Forwarding IKEA orders to Canada
Canada has its own IKEA stores and IKEA Netherlands says customers in such a country should order there, so a Dutch IKEA order only makes sense for something you cannot get at home: a product sold in the Netherlands but not in Canada. IKEA.nl delivers only within the Netherlands, hence your DZH address. Decoration, textiles, kitchenware and compact flat packs are parcels and cross the Atlantic without trouble; a large flat pack often does not, because carriers cap length and weight and charge a big light box on its volume. Tell us the article number before you order and we check it. Canada charges GST or HST on nearly everything above CAD 20, so bundle small items into one shipment.

What IKEA does and does not deliver to Canada

IKEA Netherlands' help page says online orders can only be delivered within the Netherlands, and that an order cannot be placed on IKEA.nl or in the IKEA app for delivery to an address abroad.

Does IKEA.nl ship to Canada?
No. IKEA Netherlands states that online orders are delivered within the Netherlands only and that no order can be placed for an address abroad. Order to your Dutch DZH address instead: we receive the parcel, check and photograph it, and forward it to Canada with the customs declaration prepared from your IKEA invoice.
Which IKEA items can realistically be forwarded to Canada?
Anything IKEA ships as a parcel: textiles, lighting, kitchenware, decoration, storage and small flat packs. Large flat packs for beds, wardrobes or sofas usually exceed the carriers' length and weight limits or become very expensive through volume-based pricing, and we tell you that before you order rather than after. What does Canada charge on an IKEA parcel from the Netherlands?
Above the CAD 20 exemption, GST or HST applies on the goods plus shipping and duty depends on the product and its country of origin, which for IKEA is often outside the EU. The carrier collects the amounts on delivery and may add a brokerage fee. One bundled shipment means one set of charges instead of several.
