Forwarding IKEA orders to the United Kingdom
British customers know IKEA from their own stores, and IKEA Netherlands points them there; IKEA.nl delivers within the Netherlands only. Ordering Dutch usually means a product that IKEA UK does not list, and since Brexit that order is an import. Small things are easy: textiles, storage boxes, kitchen tools and compact flat packs arrive as parcels and we forward them, customs declaration done. Large furniture is the honest exception: long or heavy flat packs exceed what parcel carriers accept, and volume-based pricing makes a big light box dear, so a bed or wardrobe is often not feasible. UK VAT is due from the first pound and duty above GBP 135; ask us with the article number before you buy.

IKEA Netherlands' help page says online orders can only be delivered within the Netherlands, and that an order cannot be placed on IKEA.nl or in the IKEA app for delivery to an address abroad.

No. IKEA Netherlands' help page says online orders are delivered within the Netherlands only and cannot be placed for an address abroad; it advises customers in a country with IKEA stores to order there. If you still want the Dutch item, order it to your DZH address and we forward the parcel to the United Kingdom.
What do I pay in UK VAT and duty on an IKEA parcel?
VAT is charged from the first pound on the goods plus shipping, and duty only when the value exceeds GBP 135, at a rate that depends on the product and its country of origin. The carrier collects both on delivery and may add a handling charge. We declare the price on your IKEA order, so keep the invoice.
Can you forward a large IKEA flat pack to the UK?
Sometimes, often not. Parcel carriers set a maximum length and weight, and a long or bulky box is priced on its volume, so a wardrobe or sofa frequently exceeds the limits or costs more than the furniture itself.
