Prime Day 2026: ordering from amazon.de or amazon.nl when you live outside the Netherlands and Germany

by DZH Transport Seasonal

Amazon Prime Day is Amazon's annual sale for Prime members, usually in summer, with a second round in October for the past few years. The deals are per country site: what is on offer on amazon.de is not necessarily on offer on amazon.nl, and vice versa. If you live outside the Netherlands and Germany, you run into a different problem than the price: delivery.

This article explains what Prime Day is and how the two sites differ, why amazon.nl does not serve many destinations, how you solve that with a Dutch delivery address from DZH Transport, and what to check beforehand so your order is no disappointment on arrival.

What Prime Day is, and why amazon.de and amazon.nl differ

Prime Day consists of temporary offers visible only to Prime members, often valid for a few hours to a few days and sometimes with limited stock. Amazon runs the event separately on each country site, with its own selection and its own prices. Amazon only announces the date shortly in advance; we deliberately do not name a day here, because it changes every year.

Amazon.de is the largest Amazon site in Europe, with a wide range and many sellers. Amazon.nl is smaller and younger, but has Dutch-language product pages, prices in euros including Dutch VAT and its own Prime membership. On both sites Amazon itself sells alongside thousands of marketplace sellers, and it is precisely those sellers who each decide which countries they ship to.

Why amazon.nl does not deliver everywhere

Items sold by Amazon itself on amazon.nl are delivered mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium. Marketplace sellers choose their own list of countries, and many smaller sellers stick to the Netherlands or the Benelux. If you live in Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the US, you will therefore see for some deals the message that the item cannot be shipped to your address, or you will not see the deal at all.

Amazon.de ships to more countries, but there too each item and each seller has its own list, and shipping costs abroad add up. A low Prime Day price on amazon.de or amazon.nl is therefore no guarantee that you can also check out with an address abroad.

How to order anyway: with a Dutch delivery address

You request your DZH address in My DZH and set it as the delivery address on amazon.nl or amazon.de, with your personal customer code. Amazon then simply delivers in the Netherlands; we receive your orders, bundle what you bought in the same days and forward one box to your own address. You see the price for that forwarding in the calculator beforehand, with no subscription. Watch three things. One: appliances from the Netherlands are made for 230 volts with a European plug; in the United Kingdom you need an adapter, in the US and Canada often a different voltage. Two: Amazon sometimes runs an extra check on a new delivery address that differs from your billing address, for instance by verifying your card; settle that beforehand. Three: outside the EU, import VAT and usually import duties are added on delivery, on top of the Dutch VAT already included in the Amazon price.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate Amazon account or Prime membership for amazon.nl?

You can log in to amazon.nl and amazon.de with your existing Amazon account. Prime Day deals are only visible to Prime members of the site where you order; check in your account whether your membership applies there. In both cases you simply add your DZH address as an extra delivery address.

How soon will I have my Prime Day order?

Amazon usually delivers to us in the Netherlands within a few days. We report your parcel, you approve, and then it travels to you; within the EU that usually takes a few working days, outside the EU longer, and customs can add days. If you want to bundle, the box only leaves once the last order has arrived.

Do I pay import duties on a Prime Day order?

Within the EU, no: Dutch VAT is already in the price and nothing is added. Outside the EU the recipient pays import VAT and usually import duties, and the Dutch VAT is not refunded. We always declare the real purchase value; what your country charges is in our article on import duties per country.
