Marktplaats is where the Dutch sell what they no longer need: vintage design, bikes, records, football shirts, spare parts that never reached the American market. Most sellers are private people who ship within the Netherlands only and want to be paid through iDEAL or a Tikkie request, which a US bank card cannot complete. With a Dutch address at DZH that stops being a problem: ask the seller to send the item to our address, or let our personal shopper buy it for you and pay the seller the Dutch way. We check and photograph the item on arrival, pack it properly and ship it to the United States with customs paperwork based on the real purchase price.

Does Marktplaats ship to the USA?
Marktplaats' own shipping service is described for the Netherlands only, and whether a private seller posts abroad is that seller's choice; most do not. Give the seller our Dutch address instead, or let our personal shopper buy the item for you. We then forward it to your US address.
Do I pay US duty on a second-hand item from Marktplaats?
Yes. Since 29 August 2025 duty applies from the first dollar, also on used goods, with a rate that depends on the product and on the country where it was made. We declare the price you actually paid the seller; keep the Marktplaats chat or payment receipt so the value can be shown if customs asks.
How do I pay a Marktplaats seller from the USA?
