Small prices, sorely missed
HEMA may well be the most missed brand among Dutch people abroad: nothing in the range is irreplaceable, and yet nowhere else is anything quite the same. The honest logistics story belongs here too: sending an item worth a few euros across the world quickly costs a multiple of that item. Which is why we are strict about bundling — one well-filled box instead of five envelopes, one shipping fee, one arrival.
In practice it works like this: you order online from HEMA and choose collection at a store; we pick it up, merge it with whatever of yours was already waiting, and ship once the box is full enough to justify the cost. That keeps a parcel of small things affordable — and the Sinterklaas shoe in Sydney filled.

Order from the Dutch shop yourself and choose click & collect. Forward us the collection confirmation — that is usually all we need.

Our courier picks up the order at the shop or pick-up point, shows identification where required and checks the parcel for visible damage.

We pack your order securely, prepare the customs paperwork and ship through the best carrier contract — or deliver it ourselves within the Netherlands and the EU.

Isn't shipping more expensive than my HEMA order itself?
With a single small item, often yes — and we say so honestly. The answer is volume: save up orders until one box is filled, and the shipping rate spreads across dozens of items, making the sums suddenly work.
Can everything in the HEMA range travel, including toiletries and food?
Most of it, yes; food and cosmetics are more sensitive, as many countries apply import rules to them. We go through your list beforehand and take out what would be stopped at the destination — better one item fewer than a whole box stuck at customs.
Do I owe import duties on a box of HEMA items in the US?
Since 29 August 2025 that is possible even at modest amounts: the US now levies regardless of the parcel's value. What you pay exactly depends on the contents and is collected from you via the carrier or customs — we always declare the value correctly.
