Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most — about pricing, insurance, customs and delivery times.

Click & collect

Does my shop even ship to my country, or do I need you?

Most Dutch shops deliver only within the Netherlands or the EU. Outside the EU you usually need a collection and forwarding partner. We collect from any Dutch shop and ship worldwide — the shop's own shipping policy no longer matters.

Do I have to pay import duties if my parcel goes to the US?

Yes, expect to. Since 29 August 2025 the US no longer exempts parcels under $800; almost every shipment can incur import duties. The amount depends on the product category — we cannot make it zero, but we can estimate it in advance.

Who pays the import duties — me or DZH Transport?

By default the recipient pays import duties and import VAT to the carrier or customs, just as with PostNL or DHL. Want everything settled up front? We will discuss that in the quote.

Can you declare a lower value or mark the parcel as a gift?

No. The customs value must be the actual purchase value; deliberately under-declaring is customs fraud, with a risk of seizure and fines for you as the recipient. We always declare correctly.

Can you combine orders from several shops?

Yes. We gather your orders and ship them as one parcel — which saves considerably on international shipping. Bear in mind that we wait until all partial orders have arrived.

Can I buy through you from a brand that does not deliver to my country?

Yes — that is exactly what this service is for. You simply order from the Dutch or European shop, we take care of receiving or collecting your order and forward it to your country, even when the shop itself does not deliver there. Many customers use this for European collections that are more expensive or simply unavailable at home, from design furniture to fashion. Do keep your country's import rules in mind: those charges are separate from our price, and we spell them out in the quote beforehand, so you know the full picture before you order.

Do I place the order myself, or do you do that for me?

Both work. Most customers order themselves and choose in-store pickup at checkout; you forward us the pickup confirmation and keep your own account, warranty and proof of purchase. If you would rather have us make the purchase — for instance because the shop refuses your foreign payment card — our personal shopper service is the way to go. From there everything runs the same: we collect, check for visible damage, pack the order sturdily for its international journey and ship with tracking. You get an update at every step, from collection to delivery at your door.

What do collection and worldwide shipping cost, and can I calculate that in advance?

Yes — the calculator on this site shows you a from-price straight away. The build-up is simple: the collection trip costs from €35.00 per hour plus €0.35 per kilometre, and for the international leg we charge the actual rate from our carrier contracts, depending on destination, size and weight (all excl. VAT). The final amount depends on the real weight and dimensions after packing. If those differ from what you entered, you hear about it before anything ships — so you are never caught out by the invoice afterwards.

Can you also ship large or heavy items, such as furniture?

Yes. We collect furniture and other large pieces by van and pack them for transport; in the calculator, choose the largest size category. If a shipment is too big or too heavy for regular parcel services, we ship it as consolidated freight (groupage): your shipment shares the load space with other cargo, which brings the price down considerably. For those bespoke shipments the calculator will not show a direct price; send photos and measurements with your request and we reply within 60 minutes with a concrete proposal or the questions we still have.

What if the shop cancels because my delivery address looks like a business?

It happens occasionally: some webshops screen unusual delivery addresses as a fraud precaution. Our experience: where possible, have us collect your order at the shop or pickup point — the issue does not exist there. If you use our address as the delivery address, simply put your own name in the address line and order transparently. We act as the receiver on your behalf, which is entirely legitimate. We cannot guarantee that every shop will cooperate; that policy is the shop's own. If your order does get cancelled, the shop refunds the purchase amount under its own terms and we charge nothing — after all, nothing was collected or shipped.

Personal shopper

Does the shopper choose for me, or do I decide what is bought?

You decide. You specify a concrete item via link, photo or description, and the shopper buys exactly that. It is a purchasing assignment, not a styling service.

Do I have to pay the purchase amount in advance?

Yes. The purchase amount plus the service fee are paid before the assignment starts; we do not advance purchases. You receive the original proof of purchase on delivery.

What if the item turns out to be sold out when the shopper is in the store?

Then you get the full purchase amount back. For the travel time we only charge the actual costs incurred, and in consultation we look for a comparable alternative.

Are travel time and kilometres already included in the service fee?

No, they are charged separately: the fee covers finding, buying and documenting; travel time and kilometres follow our hourly and kilometre rates. The calculator adds everything up for you in advance.

Can I return the item if I don't like it?

Often yes, via the shop's own return policy. If you wish, we handle the physical return transport at our normal trip rates — report it within the shop's return window.

Can you also buy in the US, for example during Black Friday?

Our home turf is Europe: that is where our shopper physically stands in the store, from Amsterdam to Paris. For the US we look at each request individually — an online purchase from an American webshop is often something we can arrange, an in-store visit is not. With American purchases, mind the import rules: since 1 July 2026 the EU no longer has a duty exemption up to €150, and a flat customs charge of €3 per product category applies on top of the VAT you already pay from the first euro. We calculate all of that for you in advance.

Can you judge size, colour and fit without me being there?

Within reason, yes. Share your measurements and preferences beforehand; the shopper sends photos or a short video from the store, holds the item next to the size chart and checks with you directly on WhatsApp. That way you decide based on what is actually on the rack. In all honesty: this never fully replaces trying something on yourself, especially clothing with an unusual cut. So do allow for the possibility that a return through the shop's returns policy is a realistic outcome — how that works is covered in the returns question above.

Is this suitable for buying a gift without the recipient noticing?

Yes — surprises are a large part of what we do. No parcel on the shared doormat, no recognisable shop name on the statement of a joint account: you pay us, not the store. We will happily hold the purchase until the right moment and deliver where and when it suits: at home while the recipient is out, at your work, or to another address. Does your own name need to stay out of sight entirely, towards both the shop and those around you? Then have a look at our anonymous purchase service; it was built for exactly that.

Do you also handle business purchases, such as corporate gifts for the office?

Yes, and it happens more often than you might think: client gifts around the holidays, a series of anniversary presents, or that one item the company needs today. We buy to your specification and budget, deliver to the office or directly to your clients, and invoice in your company name with VAT itemised properly. For larger quantities we check stock beforehand, so you are not left halfway with a partial delivery. Recurring assignments? Then we agree fixed terms on rates and turnaround — one point of contact for both purchasing and delivery.

How do I know the shopper can be trusted with my money?

By making everything verifiable. We put the item, the maximum budget and the agreements in writing beforehand; you pay DZH Transport, not a private individual. The shopper documents the purchase on the spot with photos, and you receive the original proof of purchase on delivery — so you see exactly what was bought and what it cost. If the item turns out to be unavailable, you get the purchase amount back. And you are never left hanging during the assignment: we reply to messages within 60 minutes, even if the answer is simply that the store does not open until ten.

Auction collection

I don't have a car or trailer — will you collect my lot?

Yes, that is exactly what this service is for. Send your lot number, the collection location and the final collection date, and we plan the trip — often cheaper than renting a van yourself.

Do you also help with lifting and loading?

Yes. Auction houses do not help with this themselves and usually provide no forklift. Pass on dimensions and weight in advance, and we arrive with the right vehicle and enough manpower.

What do you need to collect on my behalf?

The paid auction invoice with QR code or lot number is almost always sufficient authorisation. Send it digitally in advance, so the driver has everything ready at the desk.

Is this cheaper than renting a van myself?

Usually, yes. You only pay the actual hours and kilometres instead of rental, fuel and deposit — and you don't lose a day yourself. The calculator gives an instant from-price for your trip.

Is my lot insured during transport?

Yes, your lot is insured against damage and loss during the trip. Valuable or fragile? Tell us in advance and we will agree an appropriate higher coverage.

I no longer know my lot number — can you still collect?

Yes, we will sort that out together. The lot number is on the paid auction invoice and in your account with the auction house, usually under your purchases — the auction's confirmation email contains it too. Send us what you do have (auction name, location, a description of the lot) and we will help you search and verify the details before the trip. That check is not a formality: without a matching lot number and proof of payment the auction house will not release the lot, and a wasted trip costs you money for nothing. Better five minutes of searching up front than a driver at a closed door.

What if the lot needs dismantling, as at a bankruptcy auction?

Tell us beforehand and we plan for it. At bankruptcy auctions the buyer is often required to dismantle, disconnect and pack the lot before transport — the auction house will not do this. We can include straightforward dismantling as an option: tools and manpower come along, at our hourly rate of €35.00 (excl. VAT). For disconnecting gas, water or electricity you bring in a certified installer; that work belongs to a professional. If a lot turns out bigger or heavier on site than stated, we consult you first — you are never tied to a silent surcharge.

How fast can you collect? The auction has a tight deadline.

Forward your invoice as soon as possible and we plan immediately: within 60 minutes you hear whether the trip is feasible. Auction houses run strict collection windows, and being late is not a formality — the lot can be forfeited, or the auction house adds storage charges on top. That is why we always plan against the final collection date and confirm the trip in advance, so you know for certain someone is going. Is the deadline tomorrow, or even today? Call or message us straight away; through our 24/7 express service a lot can often still be collected the same day.

Can you deliver the lot abroad as well?

Yes. We deliver lots across the whole of Europe — from Belgium and Germany to Spain — and simply charge our hours and kilometres, with no separate international rate. Enter the auction location and your address in the calculator and you see a from-price immediately. If you live outside Europe, we pack the lot for transport and ship it through our worldwide carrier contracts, customs paperwork included. For large or heavy lots to distant destinations we prepare a bespoke quote instead of a direct calculator price; attach the lot photos from the auction and we know immediately what we are dealing with.

What if my lot arrives damaged — who is liable then?

Your lot is insured with us against damage and loss during the trip, so you are not on your own. The division of roles does matter, though: damage that already existed at the auction house is part of your purchase — auction lots are sold as they are. That is why our driver inspects the lot at loading and records its condition. If you spot damage on delivery, report it to us within a few days with photos; we then work out what happened en route and settle the claim. Valuable or fragile? Agree a higher level of cover with us beforehand.

Reshipper

Do I get my own Dutch address?

You get our delivery address plus a unique customer code for the address line. That combination is yours: every parcel arriving with it is automatically linked to your account. You receive the address by e-mail after acceptance.

Do I pay import duties when you forward to the US?

Yes, count on it. Since 29 August 2025 the US no longer exempts shipments under $800 — almost every parcel can be charged, regardless of value. The recipient pays those costs; we state them honestly in the quote beforehand.

Can you fill in 'gift' or a lower value?

No. That is customs fraud and the risk — seizure, fines, delay — lies with you as the recipient. We always declare the actual purchase value.

How long do you keep my parcels?

The first 14 days without storage costs. After that we charge from €1.00 per parcel per day (excl. VAT). Tip: order only when you intend to have things shipped soon.

Can you combine several parcels into one shipment?

Yes, that is precisely the advantage of a reshipper. You tell us when everything is in; we repack it all into one sturdy box and you pay international shipping once.

Who pays the import charges in my country — and can you advance them?

Your country's import duties and import VAT are paid by you as the receiver, usually directly to the carrier or customs on delivery — our €7.50 handling per parcel (excl. VAT) only covers receiving, checking and forwarding. If you prefer to have everything settled up front, a prepaid arrangement is possible by agreement: we then calculate the expected charges in advance, so nothing is left to pay on delivery. One caveat: customs only sets the final amount at import. That is why every quote includes a realistic estimate based on value and product category — no guarantees, but clarity up front.

What if my parcel arrives at your warehouse already damaged?

That is what our intake check is for. Every parcel is photographed and registered on arrival; visible damage is reported to you immediately, photos included. You then decide what happens: return it to the webshop — the damage is demonstrably from before our storage, which supports your claim with the shop — or forward it anyway. This way there is never a debate about where damage occurred: before, during or after our part of the journey. For the international leg afterwards your shipment is insured with us; worth more than average? Let us know and we adjust the cover accordingly.

Does the parcel have to be in my own name, or is a company name fine?

Always use your own name — or your company name exactly as you registered it with us — plus your personal customer code in the address line. That combination is how we recognise every parcel and link it to your account instantly. The code is what counts: without it, your parcel lands in manual processing and it takes longer before it is reported and forwarded. Ordering both privately and for business? That works fine side by side; keep the name on each order identical to what is registered with us and the matching always runs automatically, without queries.

Are there webshops that refuse to deliver to a forwarding address?

The odd webshop screens unusual delivery addresses as a fraud precaution and may refuse or cancel an order because of it. Hiding does not help — simply order transparently under your own name, with our address as the delivery address and your own details as the billing address. In practice this goes well almost every time; we cannot guarantee every single webshop, as that policy is the shop's own. If an order is refused, the webshop refunds you under its own terms and we charge nothing: after all, no parcel ever reached us.

How quickly is my parcel forwarded after it arrives?

Within one working day of arrival your parcel is checked, registered and reported to you — you receive a message with a photo and the weight. After that, you set the pace: choose direct forwarding and the parcel leaves with the carrier the same or the next working day; bundle several orders and we wait until you tell us everything is in. The first 14 days of storage cost nothing; after that we charge from €1.00 per parcel per day (excl. VAT). Questions in between? You have an answer within 60 minutes.

Anonymous purchasing

Can you buy something without the seller knowing who it is for?

Yes, that is the core of this service. We buy in our own name; your identity stays with us. Only when a product requires registration — a licence plate, for instance — do we discuss beforehand what is needed.

Is this suitable for an engagement ring or a secret gift?

Ideally so. No parcel on the doormat, no bank statement with a telltale shop name. If you wish, we keep the purchase until the moment of the surprise.

Does my name stay secret with you as well?

We do know you, of course — for the assignment and the invoice — but we share your details with no one, not even the seller. Discretion towards third parties is our standard, not an option.

Is having something bought anonymously legal?

Yes, for almost all requests: privacy, surprises and competitor research are simply allowed. We do not help conceal ownership for tax or money-laundering purposes, nor circumvent age or licensing requirements.

Is the purchase price included in the service fee?

No. The fee (from €145.00 excl. VAT) covers our work and discretion; the purchase amount comes on top. Both are paid in advance, so nothing needs arranging during the assignment.

Can you buy from a competitor on our company's behalf?

Yes — this is one of the most requested business uses. We buy your competitor's product in our own name, in-store or online, and you receive it unopened, with proof of purchase and, if you wish, our observations on price, delivery time and service. That lets you compare quality and market position based on the actual product rather than the brochure. The purchase is an ordinary, legal transaction; your company name appears nowhere. Invoicing runs discreetly through DZH Transport in your company name, with the fee from €145.00 (excl. VAT) plus the purchase amount.

Can you bid anonymously for me on a property or at an auction?

Here we are deliberately cautious. Property and official auctions come with identification duties: a notary and a bank must ultimately know who is buying, and constructions that obscure this — a front man — are legally fragile, and we will not take part in them. What we can do: make discreet enquiries, view or negotiate without your name coming up in the first phase, after which you sign yourself once things become formal. Put your situation to us and we will tell you honestly whether it fits within our boundaries; that assessment costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Can delivery be under a neutral name or to a different address?

Yes. We deliver without recognisable packaging — no brand logos, no shop name, no sender that gives anything away — and to the address of your choice: home, your work or a neutral address. Our own address can serve as an intermediate stop, so the shop never sees yours. The outside carries only what the carrier needs: a name and an address for delivery — by arrangement your initials, say, or a company name of your choosing. That way even a curious housemate or colleague learns nothing more than that a parcel was delivered.

Can you buy something sold one-per-customer or by raffle?

Only within the rules of the shop or organiser. We act as a buyer for a single customer: if one purchase per person is allowed, then that is precisely what we do as the buyer — one purchase, in our own name. What we will not take part in: multiple false identities, bought-up raffle slots, or gaming systems meant to distribute scarce items fairly. That is the line between discreet and dishonest, and we guard it for your reputation too. Unsure whether your request stays within the rules? Put it to us; we assess case by case and honestly say no when it does not.

Why is this also called a 'mystery shopper'? I am not looking for a job.

The term comes from market research: a mystery shopper is traditionally someone paid to assess shops anonymously, and most search results are indeed about that side job. We offer the mirror image: you hire the anonymous buyer, rather than becoming one yourself. So if you are looking for someone to make a purchase discreetly — for a surprise, a sensitive acquisition or competitor research — you are in the right place. If you are actually looking for work as a mystery shopper, we are not the right party; market research agencies are the place to go for that.

Vehicle transport with a driver

My car will not run — can you still move it?

This service exists for roadworthy, insured vehicles: our driver takes your car to its destination by road. If the car is immobile through damage or a fault, that is bespoke work on request — mention it with your enquiry and we will look for a suitable solution with you. It is very much the exception, and not what this service is built for.

Does my car go on a trailer or in an enclosed transporter?

No. Your car is driven, by our driver, on the road — no trailer, no enclosed transporter, no tow rope. That is also why it reaches places a transporter cannot: an underground car park in Monaco, a driveway in Saint-Tropez, a chalet road above Gstaad.

Does my car have to be insured?

Yes. Your vehicle must be insured, with cover in every country we drive through; our driver drives on the vehicle's own running policy. Check this with your insurer before you book — without valid cover the trip cannot go ahead.

Do you also drive to Switzerland, Monaco or the United Kingdom?

Yes. Alongside the European Union we drive to Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra and the United Kingdom; we arrange the vignettes and border paperwork. What we cannot do is a destination on another continent: no road leads there, and we do not arrange shipping.

What does it cost to have my car driven to the south of France?

The price is bespoke and quoted on request. We cost out the agreed route — distance, tolls and vignettes, and the driver's outward or return journey — and name one fixed amount (excl. VAT) before anyone gets in. Within 60 minutes of your enquiry you know where you stand.

How is this different from a company that puts cars on a trailer?

The difference is the odometer and the clock. On a trailer no kilometres are added, but your car stands among other vehicles, leaves only once that trailer is full, and ends up at a transfer point or a garage in the region. With us one driver takes it straight to the address you give, usually within one to two days. The trade-off is mileage: we agree it in advance and record it with photographs, at departure and on arrival. If zero kilometres matters more to you than anything else, a trailer is the better choice — and we will say so.

How soon will my car be at the destination?

Usually within one to two days of departure. Monaco, Saint-Tropez and Milan are roughly a thousand to twelve hundred kilometres away: one long driving day, or two relaxed ones, depending on the statutory rest periods and the time you want the car. Marbella is further and normally takes two days; Gstaad is within a day. We agree an arrival day and a time window in advance, so that you or your concierge can take delivery. At departure and on arrival you receive a message with the photographs and the mileage, so you can follow the trip without having to call.

Can the car be delivered to an address other than my home?

Yes, you decide the delivery address: a hotel, a villa, a marina, a car park, or straight to your dealer or body shop. If you are still travelling, the driver hands the car over to someone you nominate — a concierge, a house manager or a trusted contact. We ask for that name and a telephone number in advance, and that person signs for receipt. The key never goes into a letterbox or under a mat. If you want the car to arrive at an agreed time, say so with your enquiry and we will plan the trip around it.

What do I need to arrange before the driver sets off?

Four things. Check that the insurance is valid in every country on the route, because our driver drives on that policy. Put the registration document and proof of insurance in the car, and agree how the keys change hands. Take personal and valuable items out: they are not covered during the trip. And tell us how you want fuel or charging handled — on account, with a fuel card, or settled in advance. The rest is ours: route, tolls, vignettes, and the photographs of mileage and condition at departure and on arrival.

Do you also drive a classic car, a motorhome or a caravan?

We are glad to drive a classic or a youngtimer, with a driver who knows that kind of car; on request we avoid motorways and build in extra stops along the way. Motorhomes we drive as well, with a driver holding the right licence for the weight. A caravan needs a towing vehicle: if your own car is there, the driver takes the combination in one go; otherwise it is bespoke work on request. For a motorhome or caravan, always give us the dimensions and the weight — that decides which driver we assign and how we plan the route.

Everything about this service

Urgent transport 24/7

How fast can you be here if I call now?

In Noord-Brabant a driver is usually at your door within 90 minutes; further away the driving time is added. You hear the concrete pick-up time immediately with your request.

What does an express courier cost at night or at the weekend?

The same trip plus one fixed 40% express surcharge on the trip amount. We do not stack separate evening, night, weekend and holiday percentages; the calculator includes the surcharge automatically.

Are you really reachable 24/7, on public holidays too?

Yes. Phone and WhatsApp are answered day and night, on Sundays and public holidays as well, and you get a substantive reply within 60 minutes — usually much faster.

Do you only drive in Noord-Brabant?

No. Noord-Brabant is our home region with the fastest response time, but we drive express trips throughout the Netherlands and Europe. Intercontinental and by plane? Then our hand-carry courier is the right service.

How is the price of an express trip built up?

Always hours times €35.00 plus €0.35 per kilometre (excl. VAT), plus a 40% express surcharge outside office hours where applicable. Enter the trip in the calculator and you see the from-amount immediately.

Our production line is down — will you bring a part right now?

Yes — this is exactly what express transport exists for. Call or message us with what needs moving and where it needs to go; the nearest available driver leaves immediately, in Noord-Brabant usually with you within 90 minutes. Your part travels alone in the van — no sorting hub, no other deliveries — and is handed over in person, with a message the moment someone signs. Is your production under pressure more often? For recurring express runs we set up fixed arrangements with invoicing afterwards, so nobody has to sort out a payment in the middle of the night.

What happens if the trip runs over because of waiting at loading or unloading?

The first 15 minutes of waiting are simply included in the price — hunting down a signature or a briefly occupied warehouse is part of the job. If it takes longer, we charge the additional waiting time per quarter of an hour at our hourly rate of €35.00 (excl. VAT). The driver tells you the moment waiting time starts running, not just on the invoice; that way you can make a call yourself and get things moving on site. If you know in advance that loading or unloading will take time, say so — we plan it in and the quote stays accurate.

Can I book an express trip in advance, say for early tomorrow morning?

Yes, and it is often the smart move. A trip that must start within half an hour gets the nearest available driver; a trip you book tonight for 07:00 tomorrow we can schedule more tightly — that increases certainty and avoids last-minute approach time. The price structure stays the same: hours times €35.00 plus €0.35 per kilometre (excl. VAT), with the 40% express surcharge only outside office hours. A pre-booked trip within office hours therefore carries no surcharge. Call or message whenever suits you; in the evening we happily plan the next morning in.

Do you also transport medical samples or confidential documents?

Yes. Medical samples, laboratory material, contracts and other confidential shipments are a fixed part of our express work. They travel alone in the van, straight from sender to receiver, and are handed over in person to the agreed recipient — never left at a counter. Temperature-sensitive or time-critical? Mention it with your request and we match cooling and route to it. For documents the same principle applies: one driver, one trip, handover with confirmation. Does it need to go intercontinental by air? Then our hand-carry courier is the right service — a courier flies with your shipment in person.

Can I follow where my shipment is during the trip?

You never have to guess, in any case: you receive a message at departure, at collection and the moment someone signs at the destination — the moments that matter. For many trips we can additionally create a personal tracking link, letting you follow the trip's progress and the expected arrival time on your phone; ask for it when you book and we set it up for you. And if something gets in the way en route — traffic, waiting time at loading — you hear it from us before you have to ask.

Everything about this service

Hand-carry courier

What exactly is a hand-carry courier?

A courier who personally takes your shipment on a scheduled flight and delivers it hand to hand. No freight handling, no transfers: the shipment stays with one escort for the whole journey. The service is also called onboard courier, or OBC.

What does it cost to have someone fly with my shipment?

A service fee from €395.00 (excl. VAT), plus travel costs and the actual ticket price of the chosen flight. You get one total amount in advance — no surprises after that.

How quickly can the courier depart?

The starting point is the next suitable flight — often the same day. The exact departure depends on flight availability and possible visa requirements; you hear that immediately with the confirmation.

Which shipments can come along — and which cannot?

Documents, spare parts, data carriers, samples and other compact, valuable shipments. Not allowed is anything aviation rules forbid, such as dangerous goods, weapons and cash. In doubt? Ask us beforehand.

Is my shipment insured during the flight?

Yes, the shipment is insured for the entire journey. For exceptionally valuable shipments we agree an appropriate higher coverage in advance.

Is this genuinely faster than regular air freight or an express shipment?

Yes — on time-critical routes hand-carry wins almost every time. Regular air freight waits for cargo space, passes through a cargo warehouse, gets transhipped and is cleared and delivered again at the destination — every handover point costs hours to days. Our courier checks in on the next scheduled flight, keeps your shipment with them for the entire journey and travels straight on to the receiver at the destination. That is why you are talking hours instead of days: what is collected in Amsterdam in the morning can be handed over hand-to-hand in New York or Dubai that same evening.

Does the courier need a visa for my destination?

Sometimes — and that is exactly why we check it before promising anything. For many destinations a passport or a quickly arranged electronic travel authorisation is enough; other countries require a visa, which can affect the departure time. With your request we immediately assess the destination's requirements and, where possible, assign a courier who already meets them. That way a visa never becomes a surprise halfway: within 60 minutes you hear whether the delivery is feasible, on which flight and within what timeframe — the courier's own travel formalities included.

Do I need to arrange anything with customs at the destination myself?

As a rule, no — we prepare everything. A shipment travelling as hand luggage still falls under the destination country's import rules: the courier declares it properly at customs, with the right paperwork and the true value. We do that preparation before departure, together with you: which documents are needed, and which duties or taxes apply there. Any import charges are for the receiver's account; we tell you beforehand what to expect, so nothing is left to figure out on arrival.

Requested today, delivered today — is that really possible?

Within Europe, regularly, yes. The chain is built for it: within 60 minutes you hear whether it is feasible, the courier collects and checks in on the next suitable flight, and at the destination travels straight on to the receiver. A morning request Amsterdam–Milan or Amsterdam–London can then be delivered the same afternoon. Intercontinentally it depends on flight times and time zones: New York can work within the day, for Asia delivery the next morning is more realistic. The deciding factors are flight availability and how quickly the shipment is ready — call straight away and we work it out for you concretely.

Why book this instead of flying with the package myself?

Do the sums: a last-minute ticket, one or two working days on the road, a hotel — and then you still face a customs process whose rules you do not deal with daily. Our courier does this work every week: they know the check-in rules for unusual luggage, have the customs paperwork in order beforehand and hand over verifiably, with confirmation of name and time. You simply stay at work while your shipment travels. Price need not be the obstacle — from €395.00 plus travel costs (excl. VAT) — and the risk of a refused or stranded shipment is considerably smaller.

Everything about this service

Second-home service

What can you take to my second home?

Almost anything that fits in a van: bicycles, garden furniture, appliances, boxes of household goods and fragile pieces. Only long-life products can come along as an extra; the travel time is too long for perishables.

Do you drive fixed seasonal routes or on request?

Both. In spring and autumn we drive regularly to Spain and France and combine customers on the same route — which is cheaper. Outside those periods we simply plan an individual trip on request.

How does it work if I am not there myself?

We agree the key handover in advance: a property manager or neighbour, or a key safe. After delivery you receive photo confirmation, so you know everything is in order.

Do you also take things back at the end of the season?

Yes, the service works in both directions. Many customers book the outward and return trip at once; that plans more easily and is often priced better.

What does a trip to my house in Spain cost?

The price follows from hours and kilometres: from €35.00 per hour plus €0.35 per kilometre (excl. VAT). Enter your two addresses in the calculator and you see an instant from-price for the complete trip.

Can you also bring groceries or a basic supply?

Yes — as part of a planned trip we are happy to bring a basic supply: long-life groceries, drinks, cleaning products, everything that makes the house ready to live in when you arrive. Two caveats. Perishables cannot come: the trip takes too long and we drive without refrigeration. And across borders, import rules apply to certain foods; within the EU this is rarely an issue, but we go through your list with you briefly when putting it together. Hand the groceries over at loading, or, by arrangement, let us collect the order from a Dutch supermarket.

Can you check on my house when I am away for a long time?

If we are there anyway, we gladly take a look around for you. During a planned trip we will, on request, walk around the house, check windows, doors and the meter cupboard, and send you photos with a short report the same day — with worries about break-ins or squatting, that is real peace of mind. Do be aware of what this is: a check during a transport trip, not a security service. For structural surveillance a local property manager or an alarm system remains the right solution; we are the extra pair of eyes whenever one of our vans is in the area anyway.

Do you also transport art, wine or other fragile pieces?

Yes — those especially. Art, antiques, glassware and wine we pack beforehand with the right materials — bubble wrap, blankets, crates where needed — and secure in the van so nothing can shift en route. Wine we prefer to move outside extreme heat; in summer we schedule that trip early or late in the day. Everything travels insured, and for exceptional value we agree a suitable higher level of cover in advance. Tell us in your request what is coming along and what it is worth; then we decide together on packing, cover and the best moment to travel.

Do I get a regular driver, or is it someone different every time?

We understand the question: anyone sharing a key or access code wants to know who is coming. For returning customers we aim for a familiar face, and on seasonal routes that usually works out. We cannot guarantee it one hundred percent — we have holidays and schedules of our own — but you always know who is driving before the trip: you receive the driver's name and phone number with the confirmation. Every driver works to the same agreements on keys, photos and reporting back, so even the occasional different face never means different rules.

Is this also for a one-off trip, or only for regular customers?

Both, gladly. Just bought a house in Spain and the first furnishings need to go down? That is a perfectly normal one-off trip: you pay our hours and kilometres, with no subscription and no obligation to book more. Many customers who started with a single trip come back later for the seasonal runs — but that is a choice, not a condition. For yearly recurring trips we happily plan ahead and combine with other customers on the same route, which brings the price down. Simply request a price for the trip in front of you now; anything more you decide when the time comes.
