Bol.com doesn't deliver abroad — here's how to order anyway
You live in Germany, Spain or outside Europe and want to order something from bol.com. At checkout you find out: your country is not in the list. That is not a glitch, it is policy — and it applies to most large Dutch web shops.
Below you will find exactly what bol.com does and does not deliver, the three ways to get your order anyway, what that costs and when you pay import duties.
What bol.com does and does not deliver
Since 1 November 2020 bol.com delivers by default only to addresses in the Netherlands and Belgium. The reason bol gave itself: outside those two countries the delivery promise could not be kept, and the European VAT rules per country made it too complicated.
For other EU countries there is a limited exception: only items sold by bol itself, and even then without electronics, medicines and items requiring a delivery appointment. Everything from third-party sellers — a large part of the range — is excluded. Outside the EU bol only delivers gift cards, Dutch books, DVDs, Blu-rays, games and music.
This is what bol.com's customer service pages say, checked on 12 September 2026. If bol changes its policy, this article changes with it; the table in our overview of web shops names the source and the date checked per shop.
Three ways to get it anyway
One: someone in the Netherlands. Family or a friend has the order delivered to their address and forwards it. For a one-off that is the cheapest — but they have to pack it, go to the post office and, outside the EU, fill in the customs forms.
Two: a parcel point or holiday address in the Netherlands. If you live near the border or visit the Netherlands regularly, have it delivered to a parcel point and collect it yourself. Only works as long as you actually pass by.
Three: a Dutch delivery address with forwarding. You get an address in the Netherlands from us with a customer code; you enter it at bol.com or any other web shop. We receive the parcel, check it, bundle several orders if you wish, and ship it insured and with customs paperwork to your country. This is the solution for everything that does not fit one and two — and for anyone who orders more often.
What it costs
The price depends on the country, the weight and the size. Our country pages show, per country, the starting price for a 1 kg parcel including handling and packaging; the calculator works out other weights and sizes. If you bundle several orders into one shipment, you pay shipping once instead of per parcel.
You receive an invoice by e-mail and pay online. After your approval we ship on the next working day; the delivery time per country is on the country page. Insurance and customs paperwork are included in the price; your country's import duties and VAT are not — see below.
Customs: inside or outside the EU
Within the EU there is no customs clearance and no import VAT: you already paid the VAT at the web shop. A parcel to Germany, Spain or Poland therefore arrives without extra charges on delivery.
Outside the EU your country charges import VAT and usually duty, which the carrier collects on delivery. How much differs per country: the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the US and Australia each have different thresholds and rates. On the customs paperwork we always declare the actual value. Our article on import duties lists it per country.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have bol.com deliver in Germany?
Only a limited own range without electronics and without items from third-party sellers. For everything else a Dutch delivery address works: bol delivers to us, we forward to Germany, within the EU without customs.
Does this also work for Coolblue, Wehkamp and Marktplaats?
Yes. Coolblue delivers itself in Belgium and Germany, Wehkamp only in the Netherlands and Belgium, and Marktplaats sellers usually only ship within the Netherlands. For all three a Dutch delivery address works exactly the same. Our overview of web shops lists where each shop delivers.
How long does it take?
The web shop usually delivers to us within one to three working days. We confirm receipt, you approve the shipment, and we ship on the next working day. The delivery time to your country is on the country page.
Can I bundle several orders?
Yes. We store the parcels that arrive for you and send them as one shipment at your request. You then pay shipping once, and outside the EU there is one customs clearance instead of one per parcel.
