Ordering from Dutch web shops from abroad: 14 shops explained
If you live abroad and order from a Dutch web shop, you usually run into one of three things: the checkout wants a Dutch address, the shop doesn't accept every foreign payment card, or the item is only on the Dutch site.
Below are fourteen shops our customers ordered from recently, with for each shop where it gets stuck and how to solve it. Which shops deliver to which countries themselves, with source and date checked, is in our overview of web shops.
Three routes, one Dutch address
Order yourself with your DZH address: a delivery address in the Netherlands with your personal customer code. You order like any Dutch customer; we receive, check and forward, one by one or bundled.
The personal shopper, when payment fails: we order the item online for you and have it delivered to your DZH address. We only buy online, from the web shop itself, and only after you have paid.
Collection, when nothing gets delivered: if you choose collection at a store in the web shop, or buy a lot at an auction, we collect it and ship it on.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order from IKEA from abroad?
Yes, with a Dutch address. According to its own customer service, IKEA.nl only delivers in the Netherlands; the source is in our web shop overview. With your DZH address you can still order, covers and lamps included.
Can I order from HEMA if I live abroad?
HEMA has its own web shops in a few neighbouring countries, listed in our web shop overview. Looking for something from the Dutch range? Order with your DZH address; small orders can be bundled into one box.
Can I order from Action from abroad?
What customers mostly run into is that an item on the Dutch site can't be ordered in their country. With your DZH address, or through the personal shopper if payment fails, it still reaches you.
Does this also work for Hornbach?
Yes. With Hornbach it is often about an item or price on the Dutch site, and about long or heavy pieces. We forward parcels; for anything too large we make a quote.
Can I order from Muji Netherlands from abroad?
Customers usually come to us for an item that is on Muji's Dutch site and can't be ordered in their own country. With your DZH address you order it as a Dutch customer.
Does de Bijenkorf deliver abroad?
According to its own customer service, to a few European countries; which ones, with source, is in our web shop overview. If you live elsewhere, or the checkout refuses your card, the DZH address or the personal shopper helps.
Can I have a Nike release from the Netherlands forwarded?
Yes. If a model or size is only in the Dutch Nike web shop, order with your DZH address. We ship the shoebox inside an outer box, with no label or tape on the original.
Can I order from Apple Netherlands from abroad?
Customers are usually after a configuration or price from the Dutch web shop. Check in advance whether the plug, keyboard layout and warranty suit your country; after that the DZH address works as with any web shop.
Does bol.com deliver abroad?
Since November 2020 bol.com by default only delivers in the Netherlands and Belgium, with a limited exception for other EU countries. Our bol.com article explains what is possible and how to order anyway.
Can I order from Coolblue from abroad?
According to its own information, Coolblue delivers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany; the source is in our web shop overview. If you live elsewhere, order with your DZH address and keep the proof of purchase for the warranty.
How do I buy on Marktplaats if I live abroad?
Sellers decide for themselves whether they ship, and most only send within the Netherlands. Ask the seller to send it to your DZH address; if they only sell for collection, ask us whether we can collect it.
Does this also work for eBay?
Yes. On eBay the seller decides which countries they ship to, and not every Dutch seller ships abroad. Ask them to send it to your DZH address; we forward it.
Can I order from Managementboek from abroad?
Customers find that the web shop doesn't always deliver outside the Netherlands. With your DZH address you can still order. Books quickly add weight, so bundling them with other orders in one box makes sense.
How do I get a Troostwijk lot abroad?
A lot usually has to be collected, on the collection day and at the location the auction states. Our auction collection service picks it up with your paid invoice and delivers it within Europe, or packs and ships it further.
